Fine art prints of paintings by Dresden-based artist Johanna Seidel.

Johanna's work deals with the nature of perceived realities. She approaches these by means of a poetic visual language, in which symbols from history, mythology and dreams mix with the everyday and the personal. Her series of four works show a scene at sunset, which is common in many of her works. 'It's a Secret' is the most recent of the selected works and shows figures sitting in a tree above a body of water.

"I wanted to express in a painterly way the state that the air reaches on a warm evening - full of light and the half-visible. At the time the painting was created, I often thought about evolution and family trees". In a way, the painting was meant to offer a place to several generations. 'High Tide' and 'Radio' have a somewhat firmer painting style and deal with travel and transportation, with wanderlust and obstacles. 'Plateau' is the oldest of the selected works where is she is enthralled by the lavender blue sky, which is unique to in this painting. "I thought of American prairies in this picture, which have become known to a large audience through Western films and have thus themselves become a projection surface and a symbolic non-place."
