Frauke’s inspiration comes primarily from architecture and interior design. Most of her illustrations are a tribute to the work of designers and architects particularly from the mid-century modern and postmodern era. By using bold colors as well as quirky forms, Frauke aims to create joyful and playful settings.
The 'Escape Interior' series was created during the winter in Berlin. When the days are short and it’s mostly grey outside, it’s nice to dream of more pleasant places. The artworks in the series are filled with colourful interiors and showcase spaces that are a reminiscent of summertime holidays.
